How does it work?

EXModel Lite 

EXModel Lite provides the essential tools for reverse engineering with your own CAD software's environment (incl. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, SimplyCAD, AUTOCAD, NX, Catia, and SpaceClaim). EXModel Lite has the exact same tools and interface as QUICKSURFACE Lite.

EXModel is integrated with Shining 3D's scanning software. Once you have your scanned object in the scanning software, you can directly import it into EXModel with a single click. As the software is fully optimized for scan data, there is no limitation of the size of the mesh you import.

Use the simple and powerful tools to create points, lines, planes, cylinders, cones, spheres, and 2D sketches (DXF or IGES). These tools will help you create reference features that you can use in your CAD software to reverse-engineer your CAD model.

EXModel Pro

EXModel Pro is a complete reverse-engineering solution for converting 3D scan polygonal meshes of digitized parts into accurate digital parametric CAD/CAM designs. EXModel Pro has the exact same tools and interface as QUICKSURFACE Pro.

In addition to all the Lite tools for extracting features and 2D drafting tools, EXModel Pro version software offers the standard 2D, 3D, and freeform CAD operations,  such as extrude, revolve, cut, trim, loft, sweep, fillet, deviation analyzer, and many of the same tools you would use in CAD to help create the perfect solid body. The history tree and feature list created in EXModel can directly import into SolidWorks, and many other CAD environments for further edits. Keep control over your design with accurate deviation control at any time. EXModel Pro can create complex hybrid 3D models with freeform and parametric modeling capabilities.

Should you buy EXModel or QUICKSURFACE?

EXModel is a rebranded product of QUICKSURFACE. All the functions and the pricing of EXModel Pro and EXModel Lite are exactly the same as QUICKSURFACE Pro and QUICKSURFACE Lite respectively.
