Einscan-SE v2 Desktop 3D Scanner

A simple companion for 3D scanning in the studio.

The Einscan-SE desktop 3D scanner provides an easy scanning experience for well-featured objects between 1 in / 25 mm to about 11 in³ / 280 mm³. The Shining 3D Einscan-SE scanner utilizes the scan object's features for data alignment with an accuracy of .004 in / 100 microns per shot. The accuracy and single method for data alignment means the Einscan-SE is great for dimensional accuracy but scans well only on objects with a unique shape or with many surface features. On the other hand, we recommend the Einscan-SP, which provides an additional method of alignment, for objects with less or no features such as big cylindrical shapes or wide flat surfaces.

The Einscan-SE 3D scanner captures objects with a resolution, or point distance, of 0.17-0.2 millimeter which forms a dense point cloud with high accuracy to represent minuscule surface details. The scanner can be mounted on a camera tripod to capture larger objects of up to 1.75 feet / 550 mm but we found the scanning process tedious for anything bigger than 11 in / 280 mm. We highly recommend a handheld scanner for objects longer than 2 feet. 

Operation is simple: Place an object onto the turntable and hit the scan button. Each shot takes around 1 second and capturing a complete solid model usually takes around 30 seconds to 1 minute. The turntable will rotate a specified number of steps and capture the various faces of the object. Turn your model around to capture it at different angles and the included software, ExScan, will align each shot to create a full 3D object for export to a mesh format: STL, OBJ, ASC, or PLY. True color capture in 24-bit to create a detailed color map is available for each scan!

Mesh editing software include free software such as Meshmixer and Meshlab which provide many good tools to annotate or improve the file for sharing. 3D graphics softwares such as Z-Brush and Substance Painter can help make game-engine, animation, or movie assets. Rhino 3D and SolidEdge are two CAD software that have good mesh compatibility for designing with the mesh files. Siemens NX, Catia, Fusion 360 and SolidWorks are a few other CAD software with some mesh tools or plugins that can use the mesh file as a reference for design work.

A 1-year standard warranty is included to cover any manufacturing defects that cause the scanner not working as intended, with a target repair completion time 7-14 days. If the repair time exceeds 14 days, we will provide a loaner unit for your projects.
