The Transcan-C desktop 3D scanner offers the best desktop scanning system on the market for capturing submillimeter resolution and accuracy on parts between the volume of 0.4 inch³ / 10 mm³ to about 2 ft³/ 700 mm³.  Compared to the Einscan SE and SP, the Transcan-C provides much better resolution, accuracy, and color detail. The metric for point distance indicates the resolution of the scanner and how detailed the scan will be. This Transcan desktop 3D scanner can switch between a point distance of 38 microns to 0.23 millimeter during the scan to produce a variable point cloud with high accuracy. 12 megapixel professional color cameras are also included to capture a rich colored 3D model. 

Operating the Shining 3D Transcan-C is more complicated than the SE and SP models. There are two scanning ranges (300 mm and 150 mm) to meet various object sizes and needs. The cameras and scanner position will need to be re-calibrated when switching between 300 mm and 150mm. Once calibrated, place an object onto the turntable and hit the scan button. Full objects are typically scanned in less than a minute, and images in less than three seconds. Unlike the SE and SP model, we can smoothly shift between 3 levels of resolution in one project to create amazing detail with speed and efficiency. Turn your model around to capture it at various angles and let the included software, ExScan, reconstruct the full 3D object for export to a mesh format: STL, OBJ, ASC, or PLY. 

Mesh editing software include free software such as Meshmixer and Meshlab which provide many good tools for improving the file for 3D printing. 3D graphics software such as Z-Brush and Substance Painter can help make game-engine, animation, or movie assets. Rhino 3D and SolidEdge are two CAD software that have good mesh compatibility for designing with the mesh files. Siemens NX, Catia, Fusion 360 and SolidWorks are a few other CAD software with some mesh tools/ plugins that can use the mesh file as a reference for design work.
