Freescan Combo Blue Laser & Infrared Handheld Metrology 3D Scanner

Ideal for inspecting automotive, aircraft, or watercraft components.
The Freescan Combo 3D scanner offers the best inspection system for capturing submillimeter resolution and accuracy on parts between the volume of 1 in3/ 25 mm3 to about 26 ft3/ 8 m3. Blue laser scanners are very effective when scanning just about any surface texture and particularly helpful for black or reflective surfaces that absorb or reflect light respectively. Infrared scanners provide a quick and easy capture system for just about any kind of object.
The resolution, or point distance, is adjustable between 0.01 to 3 millimeters depending on your goal of whether to produce a very dense point cloud to represent small surface features or a less detailed model for the overall figure. This portable 3D laser scanner is best suited for users who are particular about achieving the highest resolution and accuracy for quality control or reverse-engineering. At a rated volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.033 mm per meter in the laser mode, the Freescan Combo earns the title as the cost-effective scanner for inspecting automotive, aircraft, or watercraft components.
There are two versions of the 3D scanner that provides a high-resolution, high-accuracy 3D scanning experience.
This Freescan Combo is an instantaneous capture system that can take up to 55 frames per second with 26 cross laser lines | 7 hyperfine parallel lines | 1 high-powered laser line to create detailed 3D models.
The FreeScan Combo Plus is an upgraded model that provides 50 cross laser lines to capture scan data three times faster than the Combo. The 7 hyperfine parallel lines and 1 high-powered laser line are also included.
Operating a hybrid blue laser and infrared handheld scanner will take some practice and we offer free online training programs to help you build expertise. Imagine you are using a paintbrush with a camera at the end to color in every surface, nook, and cranny of your subject. Laser scanners require the use of reflective markers which are placed around the subject to support the alignment of scan data. The structured light projection mode with infrared LEDs can be used to capture larger parts quickly in a resolution of 0.40 mm and without adding reflective markers. The Freescan Combo 3D scanner can only be used as a handheld scanner which limits the minimum size of the objects you can scan, but the large scan frame of 520 mm x 510 mm excels at capturing a lot of surface area to help us scan any object quickly.
The software, FXScan, used for scanning and data processing is included, which will align every frame to create a full 3D object for export to a mesh format: ASC, STL, PLY, OBJ or 3MF.
